Summer camp is an ideal opportunity for children with specific emotional or behavioral needs to socialize with their peer group in a safe and structured but relaxed environment.

Camps offer children who struggle with the pressures of academics a constructive and definitely educational atmosphere within they can acquire and practice learning skills.

There are three major categories of camps.
Day Camps – in this type camp the teens go for the day do arts and craft or sports and go home at the end of the day.

Residential Camps- in this camp the teens enjoy all day and use tent or cabin for sleep at night.

Travel programs - where a teen will travel to different locations.

Summer camps have an array of program offerings. These are generally considered a specialty camp, therefore staff and facilities are geared to provide an intensive experience in scuba diving.

However, some of the summer camps also offer programs with related activities such as canoeing, kayaking, sailing, snorkeling, swimming, water-skiing, windsurfing, etc.

Traditional summer camps are residential boarding facilities offering structured programs geared towards individual enrichment and having fun in an outdoor setting. Camps include a primary lodge and cabins for young campers. They offer a variety of outdoor and indoor activities also.

A change of scenery can be very helpful for many troubled youth. By sending your teenager to a troubled teen summer camp, you can get him or she away from friends and influences that may be detrimental, and show him or her is possible in other fronts.
