Substance abuse refers to the effect of a drug or substence that affects individual's physical health or mental health, or the welfare of others.
Substance abuse defined as a pattern of harmful use of any substance for mood-altering purposes. To use an overdose of any types drug for mood altering or joy called substance abuse. There can be some difference between substance abuse and substance dependence, but modern theory defining substance dependence in terms of physiological and behavioral symptoms of substance use, and substance abuse in terms of the social consequences of substance use.
Substance abuse may lead to addiction or substance dependence. Substence abuse and substence ddependence, both abuse and dependence are distinct from addiction which involves a compulsion to continue using of any drug. Dependence mostlly always implies abuse, but abuse occurs without dependence. On other sence, particularly when an individual first begins to abuse a substance.
To take any type drug in a limit and according to medical instruction is not a drug abuse. If a couple drinks every day after work, don't indicate it is abuse. Overall to take an over dose of drug called abuse if it has taken without any medical purpose, but only for joy.
If society has determined that substance use is harmful, and has placed legal prohibitions on their use in order to protect the individual and to protect society, people should to obey the instruction about substance use and abuse. Because if we forward in this way we find various trouble. At last we find the result of substance abuse in the face of costs involved with healthcare resources, lost productivity, the spread of diseases, crime and homelessness.
Some drug like cocaine, hashish, marijuana, LSD gives relax and positive result if taken in a limit but the unlimited use of these can be danger for a life. The addiction of these drugs is very harmful and sometimes may be cause of death. Except these there are a number of Illegal drugs whose uses are not the only substances that can be abused. Alcohol, prescription and over-the-counter medications, inhalants and solvents, and even coffee and cigarettes, can all be used to harmful excess.
